Notes on Hotels
Since we didn't book IOMW through a hotel this year, we did not reserve any hotel room blocks for IOMW participants, so you're kind of on your own in finding a place to stay. We're hearing reports that hotel rooms are tight and pricey this year. I assume this is in part due to AERA and NCME reserving blocks of rooms ahead of time, encroaching on the IOMW conference window. (We didn't run into this issue in 2014.) So if you're going to NCME and/or AERA, it might be best to book a room via their website. Otherwise, you may have to call around and book a ways out from the conference center. Fortunately, the public transportation options are good.

Here are some hotels to check out.  Let us know if you run into any good solutions, and we'll post them:
  • District Hotel (Closest for the least money.  The 2 stars is for amenities but the hotel is rated 4.5/5 stars by travelers.)
  • Hilton Garden Inn, Washington, DC, U.S. Capitol
  • Eldon Luxury Suites

The International Objective Measurement Workshop (IOMW) promotes the theory and use of objective measurement in all professions. It convenes every two years around the time and locale of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) conference and draws experts from around the world to share work in the areas of:
  • Rasch models
  • Philosophy of measurement
  • Psychometrics (education, licensure, surveys, etc.)
  • Medical outcomes
  • Objectivity-oriented models and methodologies
At present, this site serves as a portal for the organization of the IOMW conference.  If you have any questions or suggestions, or wish to post announcements or relevant information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
